Kendra Lynch, Part-time Veterinary Assistant and Student

Kendra has continued to be an active seasonal assistant while participating in MSU's Co-op education related to her field of interest.  Kendra plans to apply to veterinary school upon completion of her undergraduate degree. Kendra is very outgoing and a huge animal lover!

McKenzie Justice, Senior Veterinary Assistant

McKenzie holds a Bachelor's degree in Medical Health Services Management from American National University and is currently working towards a Master's degree in Business and Health Management.  She is a life-long animal lover and the proud mom of two cats, Simba & Harley, and her pup Levi.

Dr. Dustin Anderson, DVM

Dr. Anderson is native to Pike County, Kentucky. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University where he obtained a degree in Chemistry & Agriculture. Additionally, he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University in 2010. After veterinary school he remained a resident of Alabama and practiced as an associate veterinarian on both large & small animals. He and his wife decided to relocate home to Kentucky in 2011.  Since relocating, he has practiced as a small animal veterinarian and was proud to open Animal Wellness Center in 2014. He enjoys amateur wine production prepared from his own vineyard, hiking, gardening, and reading. Dr. Anderson resides in Letcher County with his wife Arlona, along with their cat Napoleon.

Brittany Shepherd, Senior Veterinary Assistant

Brittany considers herself a lifelong lover of animals and the medical field, and has several years of experience as a veterinary assistant. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Pikeville and is a Licensed  Veterinary Technician.  She enjoys working with all species, including exotics and large animals.  Brittany's interests include ceramics, hiking, reading, camping, and learning new things.  She is currently "owned" by two dogs, Rosie and Mina, and four cats, Wicket, Jack, Huckleberry, and Sawyer. 

Nikki Parsons, Certified Veterinary Assistant

Nikki is a certified veterinary assistant and holds a career diploma from Penn Foster University. She is the proud parent of six cats (Marcey, Ghoul, Chanel, Galaxy, Finn, and Tammy), two dogs (Luke and Enyo), two birds (Petrey and Daisy), and two turtles (Admiral and Franklin). She has experience with exotics and has a big heart for animals of all kinds!  

Lona Anderson, Office Manager

Lona is a graduate of the UofA and has taken time to assist managing Animal Wellness Center..  She loves her feisty cat Napoleon, whom she rescued in when he was 4 weeks old.  She enjoys painting, reading, traveling, running half marathons, meeting new people and enjoys new experiences.

Samantha Payne, Senior Veterinary Assistant

Samantha holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Kentucky and a Juris Doctor degree from Florida Coastal School of Law.  She is an animal lover and proud mom of three cats, Arya, Thulhu, and Eggo. She enjoys reading, movie trivia, and sketching.
