Samantha Payne, Veterinary Assistant
Samantha holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Kentucky and a Juris Doctor degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. She is an animal lover and proud mom of two cats, Arya and Thulhu. She enjoys reading, movie trivia, and sketching.
Arlona Boggs, Office Manager
Arlona is a graduate U of A, and has taken a temporary hiatus from her personal career to assist managing Animal Wellness Center and support her husband, Dr. Anderson. She loves her feisty cat Napoleon, whom she rescued in Alabama when he was 4 weeks old. Arlona enjoys painting, reading, traveling, running half marathons, meeting new people and enjoys new experiences.
Brittany Shepherd, Senior Veterinary Assistant
Brittany considers herself a lifelong lover of animals and the medical, and has several years of experience as a veterinary assistant. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Pikeville and is currently working toward becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. She enjoys working with all species, including exotics and large animals. Brittany's interests include ceramics, hiking, reading, camping, and learning new things. She is currently "owned" by two dogs, Rosie and Mina, and four cats, Wicket, Jack, Huckleberry, and Sawyer.
Jasmine Akers, Veterinary Assistant
Jasmine has always had a passion for helping animals. She enjoys working with animals of all species, but has a soft spot for exotics. Outside of work, she enjoys attending sporting events, reading, and being with her family. She has three human children and two doggie fur-children, Daisy and Samwell.
Nikki Parsons, Certified Veterinary Assistant
Nikki is a certified veterinary assistant and holds a career diploma from Penn Foster University. She is the proud parent of six cats, two dogs, two birds, and two turtles. She has experience with exotics and has a big heart for animals of all kinds!

McKenzie Justice, Senior Veterinary Assistant
McKenzie holds an Associate's degree in Medical Assisting from American National University and is currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in Medical Management. Her favorite species to work with are exotics, especially snakes! She is a life-long animal lover and the proud mom of three cats, Simba, Harley Quinzel, and Furby (who is 23!) and two pups, Levi and Tris.
Kendra Lynch has continued to be an active volunteer while participating in MSU's Co-op education related to her field of interest. Kendra plans to apply to veterinary school upon completion of her undergraduate degree. Kendra is very outgoing a huge animal lover!
Morgan Canada is a student at MSU and hopes to apply to their Vet Tech program after completing her general education courses. She has continued to be a part of our team for the past 2 summers and holiday periods.

Dustin Anderson, DVM
Dr. Anderson is native to Pike County, Kentucky. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University where he obtained a degree in Chemistry & Agriculture. Additionally, he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University in 2010. After veterinary school he remained a resident of Alabama and practiced as an associate veterinarian on both large & small animals. He and his wife decided to relocate home to Kentucky in 2011. Since relocating, he has practiced as a small animal veterinarian and was proud to open Animal Wellness Center in 2014. He enjoys amateur wine production prepared from his own vineyard, riding his jeep, gardening and reading. Dr. Anderson resides in Letcher County with his wife Arlona, along with their cat Napoleon.
